Miley Cyrus

I dunno what I think of her. At the beginning of her fame, I thought she was amusing, just another tween idol. During the photo scandal on MySpace, I thought she was just framed, wasn't concerned. At the photo scandal with Annie Leibovitz, I started to grow worried. I loved the photo, don't get me wrong, but her reaction to other people's reactions was unsettling. To me, the photo represented the corruption of the young to a certain extent, in the Industry. I thought it was a piece of art, not of pornography. I was more disturbed by the photos of her languishing amidst her father's crotch...But when she stated that she was embarrassed by the photo, I was mildly upset, because she was besmirching Leibovitz's name, and Leibovitz is one of my absolute favorite photographers(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annie_Leibovitz). As she began branching from Hannah Montana, and becoming Miley Cyrus more and more, I began to hate her, for her conceitedness, for her undeserved renown. When she dissed Radiohead, I was livid. But thinking about it now, I realize that she isn't just a whorish underage chick. She's just being a 16-year-old. She is no more sexually aware or active than many 16-year-old girls, however, the spotlight brings it to new levels. I am still trying to decide if the "Party In The USA" video is inappropriate or OK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M11SvDtPBhA). Young teens do dance and act like that, but not in such a public way. Is it the publicity that gives it a distasteful quality, or is it really just distasteful? As to her music...she is only sixteen. Perhaps with time she will bloom into a better musician, but for her age and the time being, she has some talent as a performer, whether I personally like her music or not.
